Overall schedule of Japan professional baseball
Japanese professional baseball 2026 started in March, and currently the regular season is going on. Let us show you the 2026 schedule of the post-season / playoff games!
Also, one more attention is on the battle to win the top 2 of each league.
As explained below, the 2nd place teams will host the 1st round of the Climax series, so in order to win that round, the difference of 2nd place and 3rd place is significant.

What's the rule of Japan baseball post-season, "The Climax series"?
"The Climax Series" is held for each league, Pacific league and Central league.
Top 3 teams of the regular season will be qualified for the Climax Series, and there are two rounds during "the Climax series". Here's an overview based on the standings as of Aug/1/2026:
1) First stage, between 2nd place team vs 3rd place team
✔ The games will be held on Oct/10, 11, and 12
✔︎ Out of max 3 games, the team who had 2 will be qualified for final stage (Game 3 might be canceled when one of the teams got 2 wins before the game 3)
✔︎ The games will be held at the home stadium of 2nd place team
＊ As of Aug/1, based on the latest standings, one of the games can be held in Tokyo or Osaka area (Giants at Tokyo, or Tigers at Osaka), and the other in around Tokyo area or Hokkaido (Lions at Saitama or Fighters at Hokkaido).
2) Final stage, between 1st place team vs (the team qualified from the first stage)
✔ The games will be held everyday during Oct/14~19
✔︎ The 1st place team will automatically have 1 win from the beginning as an advantage
✔︎ Out of max 6 games, the team who had 4 will be qualified for the Japan Series (Game 5 and 6 might be canceled when one of the teams got 4 wins before those games)
✔︎ The games will be held at the home stadium of 1st place team
＊ As of Aug/1, most likely, one of the games will be held in around Osaka or Tokyo area (Tigers at Osaka, or Giants at Tokyo), and the other in Fukuoka (Hawks).
What's the rule of "The Japan series"?
Finally the championship games, "The Japan Series" will be done by the winners of the Climax Series.
3) The Japan Series, between the winners of Climax Series
✔︎ The champion (who won the Climax Series) of Central league vs Pacific league will play
✔︎ Out of max 7 games, the team who had 4 will be the champion of Japan professional baseball 2026 (Game 5, 6, and 7 might be canceled when one of the teams got 4 wins before those games)
✔︎ The games will be held at the home stadium of each team. This year, it will be,
・Game1 & 2 (Oct/24 & 25) → At the home stadium of Central league
・Game3, 4 & 5 (Oct/27, 28 and 29) → At the home stadium of Pacific league
・Game6 & 7 (Oct/31 & Nov/1) → At the home stadium of Central league
